Your Right to Data Deletion
Under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), and Datenschutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO), you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data.
This page explains how to exercise your right to data deletion with Chata. We are committed to respecting your privacy rights and will process all deletion requests in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
What Data We Store
Chata may store the following types of data about you:
- Account Information: Email address, password (encrypted), account creation date
- Instagram Connection Data: Instagram User ID, Page ID, Page Access Token (encrypted)
- AI Settings: Custom AI personality, response preferences, conversation examples, frequently asked questions, usage limits
- Message Data: Conversation history, AI-generated responses, message analytics
- Usage Analytics: API usage statistics, performance metrics, activity logs
- Support Communications: Any emails or messages you've sent to our support team
How to Request Data Deletion
Method 1: Through Your Account Dashboard
- Log in to your Chata account
- Go to your Dashboard
- Navigate to "Account Settings"
- Click "Delete Account"
- Confirm your deletion request
Method 2: Contact Us Directly
If you cannot access your account or prefer to contact us directly, you may send an email request. Please note that email requests require manual verification and may take longer to process than the instant deletion available through your dashboard.

- Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Include the following information:
- Your username (as registered on Chata)
- Email address associated with your account
- Instagram account username that is connected (if applicable)
- Confirmation that you want all data permanently deleted
Note: You will receive an automated confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your request. We will process your request within 30 days as required by applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
What Happens After Your Request
Verification Process
To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized deletions, we will:
- Verify your identity using the email address associated with your account
- Confirm your deletion request via email
- Process your request within 30 days (as required by GDPR)
Data Deletion Process
Once your request is verified (for email requests) or confirmed (for dashboard deletions), we will immediately:
- Delete your account and all associated data from our databases
- Remove your Instagram connection and revoke all access tokens
- Delete all conversation history, AI settings, and configurations
- Remove your data from our analytics, logging, and backup systems
- Permanently delete all stored messages and usage data
Instant Deletion: If you use the "Delete Account" button in your Account Settings, your data will be deleted immediately upon confirmation. You will receive a confirmation email confirming that your account has been successfully deleted. This is the last email you will receive from us.
Email Requests: For deletion requests sent via email, we will send you a confirmation email once the deletion process is complete, typically within 7-14 days of verification.
Important Notes
Irreversible Action
Warning: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your data is deleted, you will not be able to recover your account, settings, or conversation history.
Third-Party Data
Please note that we cannot delete data that has been shared with third parties (such as Instagram/Meta) through the normal operation of our service. You may need to contact these third parties directly to request deletion of data they hold.
Legal Obligations
We may be required to retain certain data for legal, regulatory, or security purposes. If this applies to your request, we will inform you of what data must be retained and why.
Response Time
We will acknowledge your deletion request within 24 hours and complete the deletion process within 30 days, as required by GDPR. In most cases, deletion will be completed within 7-14 days.
